Summer is coming, and with it our Annual Client Dinner. I’m very pleased to say this year’s event will be held at Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino, both to accommodate our friends on the east side of Connecticut, but also for a change of scenery.

Each summer we host this dinner as a way to communicate updates and ideas, but also for clients and friends to interact together. It’s one thing to meet with your advisor at your kitchen table. It’s quite another to talk with 200 other clients about their thoughts and ideas. We believe that interacting in this way together once a year is an important part of the experience of working with us.

With a wild year of unexpected outcomes and continued drama, we’re excited to have our friend Dr. Ben Hunt as our keynote speaker this year. Dr. Ben Hunt is the chief investment strategist at Salient Investment Partners and the author of Epsilon Theory, a newsletter and website that examines markets through the lenses of game theory and history. Over 100,000 professional investors and allocators across 180 countries read Epsilon Theory for its fresh perspective and novel insights into market dynamics. As usual I’ll first provide an overall brief market update. I’ll do my best to share compelling and interesting highlights, but also to keep it short and move quickly to our keynote speaker, as well as the socializing and networking afterwards.

An open bar will be available from 6pm to 10pm with cash bar available afterwards, and our good friend DJ Rob and his Intellibeam lighting kit will keep the party going. But unfortunately, due to smoking regulations at the conference center our friends from the Cigar Shop will not be attending.

For those who wish to stay over we’ve reserved a discounted block of rooms at the Mohegan Sun Hotel. Please let us know if you’d like to reserve a room when you RSVP and we’ll help you find the Valark online reservation page.

If you can’t attend the dinner but want to see the presentations, this year we’re taking a giant step into the present and broadcasting the presentations on Facebook Live! Please look for the Valark Financial page on Facebook and friend us there – not only for the video stream, but also for routine timely updates and articles of interest.
